N° 64

Date finished: Jan. 2016

Batch: WS10

Country of origin: Germany

Supervisor(s): Peter Strasser (TU), Holger Dau (FU)

Area PhD: On the Catalytically Active State and Structure-Activity Correlations of 3d Transition Metal Oxide Catalysts for Electrochemical Water Splitting

Present occupation:
03/2018 - now: Researcher, then group leader at Fritz-Haber-Institute, Department Interface Science

Current research field: Dr. Arno Bergmann's research at the Fritz Haber Institute focuses on understanding the solid-liquid interface under electrocatalytic conditions, with particular emphasis on CO₂ and nitrate reduction as well as hydrogen production. His work aims to bridge the gap between fundamental surface science and applied electrolyzer technology, using time-resolved operando investigations to study nanoparticle model catalysts under real-world conditions.

Past occupations:
03/2017 - 01/2018: PostDoc at Bessy, Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin
02/2016 - 02/2017: PostDoc at TU-Berlin, in the group of Peter Strasser
