On Sept. 29, Dr. Benjamin Steininger from the Max-Planck-Institute for the History of Science came to EC2/BIG-NSE to animate a workshop on the topic "Unlocking Catalysis: Bridging Lab Expertise and Global Impact" (see description here).
A small group of interested EC2/BIG-NSE students were asked to bring each two object as a basis for a brain storming about the impact of chemistry on its environment on very different levels, e.g. economical, political, ecological etc.
Very interesting conversations resulted which will be summarized in a statement paper which might serve as a basis for future workshops building on the first one.
