The new "Initial Phase" program started on Oct. 2 with a bike tour and picnic

This event is the first of a series of many other more activities organized for the newest batch (WS23) in the coming 3,5 months.
This nice event, in which some of the new batch PhD students - those already in Berlin - could take part was the kick-off event of this year's initial phase. The meeting started with a small tour past some of the most prominent sites of the city (Siegesäule, Schloss Bellevue, Kanzleramt, Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor), then finished with a picnic in the Tiergarten parc, with a couple of "Pétanque" games. It was a nice way to start the "Initial Phase" program, which will include lectures, excursions, workshops, language and other soft-skill courses, as well as social activities until mid-January, when the new batch students will present the work plan of their PhD.
