In this second workshop—again generously offered by Dr. Adam Belsom and Dr. Ana Perés from the Rappsilber Lab at TU Berlin—participating PhD students received valuable guidance on developing a personal PhD strategy.
As part of our PhD Accelerator Workshop series, this session focused on the question: How can I take control of my PhD journey and finish strong?
With support from the tutors, participants revisited their initial motivations, explored practical project management tools, and learned how to structure their thesis effectively. They also gained strategies for recognizing when they have gathered enough data, planning next steps, and making meaningful progress—even under time pressure.
Once again, six participants—diverse in nationality, research field, institution, and PhD stage—benefited from a direct, personal exchange and tailored advice.
The next workshop, focusing on writing, will take place during the annual EC²/BIG-NSE retreat at Hotel Döllnsee on Thursday and Friday, June 12–13, with Adam and Ana returning as tutors.
This time, participation will mostly be limited to EC²/BIG-NSE students attending the retreat.
We look forward to this next opportunity to learn and grow together.
