Every year, new students admitted to EC2/BIG-NSE begin by going through an “initial phase” of three-and-a-half months duration (from October to mid-January): see more information here.
The initial phase consists of the following elements:
- introduction to the Cluster of Excellence UniSysCat in the form of
- a few presentations
- excursions to all participating labs at the nine institutions (cancelled this year due to Corona restrictions)
- basic lectures: see new program here.
- soft skills courses
- language courses
- preparation of the PhD work plan
- social activities
Please consult here the daily program.
Whereas soft skill and language courses are reserved for the new batch students, basic lectures and social activities are open to all UniSysCat members.
